Tip for authors old and new: Protect your joy.

It’s easy to veer off course on our writing journeys. To get so caught up in the business of writing that we forget why we wanted/needed to tell our stories in the first place. Slowly, our focus shifts to sales and success and less about creating and craft, and our joy that once burned bright begins to dim.

We become preoccupied with how to get ahead. "Do more" we’re told. "Write more, be online more, advertise more." We begin to play the dreaded comparison game, doubts creep in, confidence slips. We forget it’s all about the story.

Shut out the noise. Climb in your writing bubble and have fun. Play. Find your joy again. Protect it, and it will protect you.
