ROUND TABLE

What have you recently been reading for pleasure?

pamela

Pamela Harty

For pleasure my recent reads have been:

Elin Hildebrand’s Golden Girl

Fiona Davis's The Lions of Fifth Avenue

Chandler Baker's The Whisper Network

Alyssa Cole's When No One is Watching

Elaine

Elaine Spencer

I just finished Lucy Boy by Shanthi Sekaran, which is exactly the type of project I love in contemporary fiction because it made me take a hard look at so many different sides of a compelling story with no clear winner.

I am in the middle of Black Buck by Mateo Askaripour which is awesome. I love books with a male POV for a change of pace and in this story you are cheering so hard for Darren/“Buck” it makes the pages just fly by.

A few other recent favorites were The Sweeney Sisters and The Last Summer at the Golden Hotel, stories that totally encapsulate the types of family narratives I love to dig into.

LucienneDiver

Lucienne Diver

My most recent read for pleasure was The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart, the first book in her Drowning Empire epic fantasy series. I loved it so much that I’ve already pre-ordered the second. A truly rich and unique world.

My time for personal reading ebs and flows, but I recently stole a couple of weekends and binged some great titles. I really enjoyed Sylvain Neuvel's Themis Files trilogy: Sleeping Giants, Waking Gods, and Only Human. Also: Reputation by Lex Croucher, You Have a Match by Emma Lord, and A Children's Bible by Lydia Millet. At the moment, I'm loving Casey McQuiston's One Last Stop.

I finally got around to reading The Hating Game by Sally Thorne (yes, I’m very late to the party.)  I really enjoyed the banter between the hero and heroine.

Kristy Hunter

I’ve been really loving some more suspenseful reads. I thoroughly enjoyed The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave, and I’m currently reading The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris. Before this, I had been on a pretty big romance / romantic-comedy kick—including The People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry and Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory.
