Agents of the Round Table

What's currently on your manuscript wish list?

Elaine Spencer

I’m looking for urban-set contemporary rom-coms featuring strong “underdog” modern heroines, historical women’s fiction exploring unique moments in history with a strong sense of place (bonus points for southern set stories!), and contemporary women’s fiction that will speak to readers personally and give reason for reflection on their own lives or the lives of those around them. I’m also really growing my list in the non-fiction space. I’m interested in narrative, prescriptive and gift nonfiction in a vast arena spanning from true-crime (especially as it relates to its lasting impact on history, a place or a group of people), pop-culture, humor, diet, platform-driven social media brands, modern parenting, and lifestyle to name a few.

Pamela Harty

I am looking to add new nonfiction authors. Please send me your True Crime, Lifestyle, Cooking & Diet, How-to, Pop Culture, Humor, Parenting, Narrative, and Advice/ Relationship. I am really looking forward to seeing new material.

Lucienne Diver

My list is incredibly full at the moment. Still, I can’t bring myself to stop reading anything with a unique premise, particularly involving concepts that are relevant to the sociopolitical challenges of today and particularly with diverse voices.

Nephele Tempest

I’m still looking for the same sorts of books, but I’d also like something with a bit of adventure to it. Women’s fiction or possibly historical fiction that’s voice- and character-driven but also has layers of story and perhaps a bit of a puzzle (though not specifically a mystery). I’m a huge fan of Katherine Neville’s The Eight, which doesn’t fall neatly into a specific category, and I’d love to find something that has that scope and feel.

Melissa Jeglinski

Thrillers with a female protagonist and Historical Fiction set during either WWI or WWII are at the top of my current wish list. I’d also love a HF about the Romanovs. I’m on the hunt for a stellar Cozy Mystery with an innovative approach (no paranormal elements, please.) I’d love to see a humorous girl detective Middle Grade protagonist. My list is really full of Contemporary Romance and Women’s Fiction at this time.

Kristy Hunter

I’m looking for women’s fiction projects that feature protagonists overcoming something other than divorce or the death of a child/spouse, thrillers with book club appeal, rom-coms, young adult, and middle grade. I’m actively growing my list, and projects with a strong hook, a diverse cast, and a unique voice will always spark my interest.

Janna Bonikowski

I’m eager to find projects with big, surprising concepts. I love humor and anything that examines socially relevant issues. I’m fatigued with romance and women’s fiction submissions that seem to be treading the same paths, so something that’s more outside-the-box would be fantastic. For YA, I’d love to see suspense or mystery that is dark and twisty.

- THE DRUDGE REVOLUTION, an exploration into the reclusive media influencer Matt Drudge and the untold story of how talk radio, Fox News, and a gift shop clerk with an Internet connection took on mainstream media and forever impacted the way our culture consumes our news, by Matthew Lysiak, author of NEWTOWN: AN AMERICAN TRAGEDY, to Glenn Yeffeth at BenBella Books by Elaine Spencer

- Rachel Caine's untitled books four and five in the series that started with STILLHOUSE LAKE and KILLMAN CREEK, to Liz Pearsons at Thomas & Mercer in a very nice two-book deal by Lucienne Diver

THE WINDING RIVER, a multi-generational family saga about a daughter's quest to help her father unearth the truth surrounding his wartime past, told through the alternating points of view of a Jewish-American liberator, a German test pilot, and a political science professor, by Aimee Runyan, author of DAUGHTERS OF THE NIGHT SKY, to Chris Werner at Lake Union Publishing in a nice deal Melissa Jeglinski

- Kira Archer's untitled book, a continuation of her Winning the Billionaire series, to Alethea Spiridon at Entangled Indulgence by Janna Bonikowski

- Ann Aguirre's MURDERING MARLENA, pitched as a dark and twisted Cinderella Story, to Terri Bischoff at Midnight Ink in a nice deal by Lucienne Diver

Ella Quinn's new Regency romances, featuring crossover characters from the Worthingtons  and Marriage Game series, to John Scognamiglio at Kensington in a nice three-book deal by Janna Bonikowski and Deidre Knight

- Laurel Greer's next three titles in her Sutter Creek Montana miniseries, where three siblings fall in love with newcomers and old flames while struggling to add a search-and-rescue dog training facility to the family veterinary clinic, to Carly Silver at Harlequin Special Edition in a three-book deal by Elaine Spencer

- Amy Jarecki's THE HIGHLAND EARL, winner of 2018 RT Best Historical Debut award, in which an earl, believing he will never love again, enters into a marriage of convenience to clear his debts and secure a stepmother for his sons, to Leah Hultenschmidt at Grand Central by Elaine Spencer

Scott Rubin

Scott Rubin started on the path toward being a geek early with Dune, Star Wars, and Star Trek, and as an avid toy collector and tabletop gamer he can usually be found at a geek convention near you. Scott lives in Southern California with his wife, two young sons, and a cat named Arwen.

James Fryar

Ever since the novels of C.S. Lewis and Roald Dahl made an indelible impression on his childhood, James Fryar has attempted to write at that epic standard, with the hope of instilling a love of writing, books, and magic in others that those authors left in him. Born and raised in Texas, James currently resides outside of Atlanta with his wife and two sons.

Ruthie Knox

New York Times bestselling author Ruthie Knox writes contemporary romance that’s sexy, witty, and angsty—sometimes all three at once.
